Need the rule?Haber vs tener
Haber vs TenerElementary

Exercise 2: Hay or Tiene? (there is vs it has)

Choose hay (and había, habrá) for 'there is / there are', or a form of tener when someone or something has it

💡
Tip: Tener is for what you have (possession, age, tener hambre) and for personal obligation (tengo que). Haber is the helper verb in "have done" (he comido), and hay means "there is / there are" (hay que = one has to).
